Unbeknownst to me, there was another interesting spot to visit along the coasts of Normandy: Pointe du Hoc. For you history lovers, here is what I know (or what I copied from the site itself): Pointe du Hoc (French pronunciation: [pwɛ̃t dy ɔk]) is a clifftop location on the coast of Normandy in northern France. It lies 4 miles (6.4 km) west of Omaha Beach, and stands on 100 ft (30 m) tall cliffs overlooking the sea. It was a point of attack by the United States Army Ranger Assault Group during Operation Overlord in World War II.

I will tell you one thing…I saw some HUGE bomb holes! I have a great amount of respect for anyone who had to endure that battle. They were NOT kidding around. See for yourself! Bon Ap!
