Pointe du Hoc…

Standard

Unbeknownst to me, there was another interesting spot to visit along the coasts of Normandy:  Pointe du Hoc.  For you history lovers, here is what I know (or what I copied from the site itself):  Pointe du Hoc (French pronunciation: [pwɛ̃t dy ɔk]) is a clifftop location on the coast of Normandy in northern France. It lies 4 miles (6.4 km) west of Omaha Beach, and stands on 100 ft (30 m) tall cliffs overlooking the sea. It was a point of attack by the United States Army Ranger Assault Group during Operation Overlord in World War II

I will tell you one thing…I saw some HUGE bomb holes!  I have a great amount of respect for anyone who had to endure that battle.  They were NOT kidding around.  See for yourself!  Bon Ap!

For clarification...those are NOT rolling hills. Rather, bomb holes (for lack of a better term).

This was one of the smaller holes. Or, as Daniel put it, Julie-sized.

And here is a Daniel-sized bomb hole.

This does NOT look like my idea of fun!

Thanks a million to all of our military heroes! Love, The Hanssens and The Barnetts!
